Who is eligible to enroll in the Copper River School District Correspondence Program?
  1. A student who is 5 years of age by August 15, can enter Kindergarten (birth certificate required) and 6 years of age by August 15, can enter Grade 1. Students enrolling in the high school program must have satisfactorily completed the eighth grade.
  2. A preschool program is not offered for children under 5 years of age.
  3. The student must be under the age of 20 unless he/she qualifies for  "special services".
  4. A student may not be enrolled in two correspondence programs at one time.

How do I enroll my student in the Copper River School District Correspondence Program?

 
 

Step 1:  Download and complete all of the following forms

  1. Registration Form
  2. Home Teacher Agreement Form
  3. Student Record Request Form

 

 

Step 2:  Mail a copy of the completed forms along with the following documents to
Copper River Correspondence Program
P.O. Box 108
Glennallen, AK 99588

  • Photocopy of birth certificate.
  • Copy of guardianship papers if applicable.
  • Copy of immunization record with current TB test and results. All new students to the program must have a new TB test.
  • Copy of most recent report card and achievement test results.
  • School entrance physical if first time attending school in the State of Alaska.
  • Placement tests for Calvert School, grades 4-8.
    All correspondence students using Calvert curriculum will be required to use the Advisory Teaching Services, therefore, this placement test is required.
  • For high school, you can choose up to 6 credits for a full-time student from the approved curriculums on our curriculum page. Please use the forms on that page to fill out your order.


When can I enroll my child in the Copper River School District Correspondence Program?
  1. Preferably, the student should be entered into the Copper River School District Correspondence Program by June 15 prior to entering the program in the fall. Early enrollment ensures that materials will be ready for your student's entrance into the Correspondence Program.
  2. Enrollment will be accepted between May 1, and September 15, or until a certain cap of students has been reached.
